New technique has been used for the past 5 years as alternative to the more surgically invasive face-lift . This procedure is used to reduce wrinkles around the throat, neck, brows and cheeks. By the technique of Aptos Lift or Soft Fast Lift, the surgeon uses resolvable anti-drooping suturing threads which are placed (using special thin needle cannulas) underneath the skin surface on the area to be treated. Once inserted under the skin, The Aptos® thread cogs will form a support structure for the tissue of the face. This procedure is safe, quick and easy to perform. Performed under local anesthesia and if desired, light IV sedation, the patient remains awake and alert.

Aptos Thread Lift

The Aptos intradermal treads must be treated gently for at least 5 days after placement. For optimal results, no heavy exertion, direct pressure, or vigorous rubbing should be done to the treatment area during this time.

Risks and side effects - If the patient follows all guidelines provided to them by the surgeon then risks and side effects have proven to be minimal.

Who is a good candidate for Aptos Threads?

The best candidate for the Aptos Threads Lift Technique is an individual, that demonstrates early facial aging, with mild to moderate loosening or sagging of the facial skin. Four facial areas can be addressed, individually or together – the brow, the cheeks, nasolabial folds and melolabial folds adjacent to the nose and mouth, the jowls, and the neck.

Suspension or smooth threads
In order to achieve a lift with a smooth thread it does need to be anchored to a stable structure of the face or scalp, i.e. it needs to be suspended, just like a stocking that needs a suspender belt. They are just ordinary resorbable or non-resorbable threads, usually made from prolene or nylon, as used for suturing (stitches) in operations.
